WHO CAN APPLY?

You can apply for a traineeship if you’re:

• eligible to work in England
• have little or no work experience but are motivated to work
•  aged 16 to 24 - or 25 with an Education and Health Care plan - and qualified below level3

WHAT DO TRAINEESHIPS INCLUDE?

Our colleges in Hertfordshire and many private training providers offer Traineeship opportunities. The type of programme you can expect might consist of the following:

• Support to gain the skills that employers want - courses will equip you with the skills, attitudes and behaviours employers are looking for. Also providers will make sure employers recognise what you have to offer – helping you perfect your CV and interview technique.

• Qualifications - You’ll gain sector-specific qualifications, as well as additional qualifications such as personal and social development, health & safety or first aid. This will give you the additional skills that employers love.

• Work Experience - Many courses include a work experience element.  Your work experience placement can be matched to your interests and where you want to be in life.  This will give you real work experience in a job or career you’re interested in. You'll get relevant and high quality work experience with nationally and internationally known companies such as Premier Inn, John Lewis, Hertfordshire County Council, Marriott, Holiday Inn, B&M, Tesco and Costa Coffee.

• Interview opportunities - You'll get an exit interview from your work placement, giving you valuable interview experience. This will provide you with practical advice about your career and the chance to potentially get a job with your placement employer.

• Support to move into an apprenticeship, employment or further training - ultimately Traineeships lead you onto where you want to go to next.
