Pathways to Success

Are you looking for a job, apprenticeship, volunteering or further education? Are you aged 15 - 24? Pathways to Success can help you get the job or training you want.

What is the programme?

Pathways to Success is a tailored programme for young people which combines careers activities that support their pathway into Education, Employment or Training. The programme is delivered by YC Hertfordshire, starting on 1st January 2020, until 31st December 2022 and is part funded by the European Social Fund (ESF).

Who is Pathways to Success for?

Hertfordshire young people aged 15-16 in Year 11 or aged 16 -24 and currently at risk of becoming not in education, employment or training. The young person must be a permanent resident of the UK and eligible to work in the EU. The programme has a specific focus on individuals from vulnerable groups requiring some additional support.

  • Elective home educated (EHE)
  • Lone parents
  • Learning difficulties and disabilities (LDD)

What will the programme include?

All participants will receive a programme of activities over a flexible timescale (between 1 and 6 months). They will receive up to 30 hours of Pathways to Success employability activities and an offer of a 5-15 day work experience placement to fit in with the young person’s career pathway choice. Following completion each young person will receive follow-up tracking and mentoring for up to six months.

What are the benefits?

The programme will give individually tailored support for each young person to progress into education, employment and training, enabling them to explore career pathway choices and gain knowledge of the steps needed to further achieve. It will enable them to further develop knowledge, skills and employability characteristics in a real work environment and to develop links with employers.
