Whether you are using Apprenticeships to recruit fresh new talent or using these qualifications to provide development for your existing employees we want you to nominate your organisation for the 2020 biz4Biz Best Apprenticeship Award. 

This award, which is sponsored by North Herts College, is open to any apprenticeship scheme that provides excellent job training, ensuring the apprentice becomes a master of their trade. Success is measured in the number of apprentices becoming a valued employee.

The awards

The biz4Biz Awards are impartial, independent awards that can be won by anyone involved in business in Hertfordshire. The aim of The biz4Biz Awards is to seek out examples of being the best at what we do. Online nomination and voting will take place from the beginning of November 2019 until the 14th February 2020. Nominees from the Top 20 will then be invited to attend a judging day at a Hertfordshire hotel during March 2020. Companies can nominate themselves or be nominated by the general public. The glittering biz4Biz Awards ceremony will take place on Friday 15th May 2020 at Tewin Bury Farm Hotel, Welwyn, Hertfordshire, AL6 0JB and will be hosted by the "King of Ballroom", Anton du Beke! All nominees will have the opportunity to publicise on The biz4Biz Awards website with award winners having full on-going publicity following the awards ceremony. Entry and Participation is completely Free of Charge.

2018 – John O’Conner Ltd

Established in Welwyn in 1969, and family-owned with a family ethos, John O’Conner (GM) LTD is a respected market leader in grounds maintenance services. The judges recognised that their apprenticeship scheme is now an integral part of the John O’Conner recruitment process, offering young people opportunities in horticulture, business administration and mechanical apprenticeships. With 25% of staff having achieved or working toward their work place diploma in an open, supportive and enjoyable environment, John O’Conner secure this award for the second year running.

2019 –  Emico

Emico are an engineering services provider in the Mechanical Engineering sector bringing their skilled knowledge and staff into play in some of the largest construction projects currently underway in London and the counties surrounding London. Their development of training schemes and in-house arrangements to support their large number of apprentices impressed the judges of this award.
