Work Experience/Study Programmes
Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service invites young people to take part in its 12-week Prince’s Trust Team Programme. The scheme is for eligible 16 to 25 year-olds and can also support those who may or have become marginalised within society through: social exclusion; involvement in crime or antisocial behaviour; have mild learning difficulties; or mental health issues and are not in employment, education or training.
Students are encouraged to undertake a voyage of self-discovery to boost and develop skills, experience, confidence and motivation, to find work or go on to further education or training. Our learners are encouraged and supported with the following:
- a residential team-building week
- community projects
- interview and presentation skills
- help with CV writing
- help with gaining work experience, placements and references.
- to gain a nationally recognised qualification
Training is free and doesn’t affect jobseekers’ allowance.
Our courses run three times a year from five locations: Watford; Hemel Hempstead; Cheshunt; Stevenage/North Herts; and Welwyn/Hatfield.
