WHAT DO THEY DO?
Step2Skills gives Hertfordshire residents a wealth of opportunities to learn, upskill and improve their employability.
WHAT PROGRAMMES ARE ON OFFER FOR YOUNG PEOPLE?
BUILDING BETTER OPPORTUNITIES YOUTH FUTURES
- 1-1 mentoring to support young people into employment or education.
- Opportunities to take courses or engagement activities to support progress.
Aimed at:
- 16-19 years old. Up to aged 24 for those with LDD or leaving care.
- Harder to reach young people, often with complex and / or multiple barriers to engagement including LDD.
- Unemployed or economically inactive

SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT (FORMERLY WORK SOLUTIONS)
Supported Employment helps people with learning, physical or sensory disabilities or autism find and stay in work.
Step2Skills Supported Employment team (formerly Work Solutions) can accept referrals for paid work from any Adult Care Services team if the prospective client meets the following criteria:
- is 18 years old or over
- is Care Act eligible and has 2 or more support needs identified under the Care Act (one of which can be employment support)
- has a learning or physical disability, sensory needs or autism/aspergers, provided the primary need is not a mental health issue, in which case they should be signposted to the Hertfordshire Partnership Foundation Trust (NHS)

ADULT PROGRAMMES

ADULT COMMUNITY LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
- Accredited and non-accredited learning opportunities delivered in community venues.
- Partners across Hertfordshire embedded within the community offering a wide range of courses
- Includes English, maths, ESOL, digital skills, general employability skills, sector specific employability courses, health and wellbeing courses.
Aimed at:
- Hertfordshire residents aged 19 years plus.
