The Borough of Broxbourne is in south east Hertfordshire, just north of London and the M25, with a population of 96,000. It is an attractive place to live and work and is just 25 minutes from Liverpool Street and Stratford International stations by train. There is also good access to airports and the rest of the UK.

Apprenticeship, graduate and work experience programmes

 

Apprenticeships are offered in various sectors of the Council, as well as at Broxbourne Environmental Services Trading Ltd (BEST). Apprenticeships can be in any discipline available in the current list of Government Apprentice Standards which are regularly reviewed and updated.

Broxbourne and BEST support a wide range of apprenticeships, from Level 2 in Horticulture, Level 3 in Electrical Maintenance to Level 7 in Law, Level 7 in Town Planning and Level 6 in Surveying, as well as Business Administration, Audit and Accountancy at various levels.

Apprenticeships are fully funded; employees study for 20% of their working week while being paid their full salary.

There are no barriers to becoming an apprentice, regardless of age or circumstances. Apprenticeships can offer a real alternative to university. Apprentices study while working gaining valuable on the job experience while they study. Existing employees can also choose to study for an Apprenticeship qualification.

Work experience and work trial opportunities can also be arranged in some roles in certain circumstances.
