Why MCP

We are on a journey and want you to be part of it!

Three years ago, had you heard of MCP Property Services?

The business has been trading for over 40 years, starting when the founder, Mick, was made redundant from a DLO and then asked a week later if he wanted to be a contractor. They are still a Customer.

Our most recent step change was in 2018 when the founder, Mick, retired. We are at the start of the next step and look what’s been achieved in the last 2 years.

You have now heard of MCP. Customers are approaching us; competitors are taking a note of us and people want to work for us. This is the start of our journey; we are an exciting place to be. Do you want to be part of it?

We have already exceeded our initial three-year plan and haveshaped the future.

Turnover and profit, whilst referred to below as tangible objectives are not our most important financial number, order book value is. Decisions are made for the long term; we are a young team with clear succession plans. The shareholders share this view and are committed to the growth of the business.

Our purpose is clearly defined and known to all; attached is our Strategic Plan 2020/21 – 2027/28. This does not have any financial targets within it. Financial reward is the outcome of exceeding our strategy.

Our values are integrated throughout MCP, people are rewarded for living up to them. Our Values and Strategic Objectives are the pillars of all decision-making.

We know our individual reasons for coming to work, if you know each other’s ‘why’ you work better as a team. My own reasons are:

  • To provide for my family
  • To Feel Valued
  • The Challenge and the Win
  • To Learn and Develop as a person
  • To leave a legacy.

Why you

Your reputation in the sector is high. However, this is secondary to the impact you will have within the team, and for the business. You will meet our values:

Integrity – Doing the right thing, being trustworthy, professional and ethical.

Innovation – Looking for better ways to do things, suggesting and implementing solutions to problems.

Team Player – Looking out for each other, helping each other to achieve company and personal goals, going above and beyond.

Honest – Owning up to mistakes and embracing them as an opportunity to learn. Respecting others and being aware of your actions.

Proactive – Anticipating issues and opportunities and acting upon them.

Positivity – A friendly approach with a smile! Always looking to reward positive outcomes and using positive language.

Reliable & Dependable – Being on time, doing what you said you will, consistently.

Why now?

We have seen 40% growth in sales, 100% growth in profit and with four contract wins thus far in 2020. This is a new role and a great chance to shape part of MCP’s delivery model aligned with our growth strategy.

We are looking for people to join our team who are willing to keep learning and developing in a supportive environment.

We are on the cusp of our next stage of growth and that brings anticipated volume increases. Whilst exciting, we are in no way naive about the impact this will have on our people. The time is right. Now.

We could tell you that we’re one big family, and that you will be welcomed and treated as an original family member from everyone across all tiers of the business and that we’re fabulous to work for as ‘people’ are our biggest drive in all aspects of the company, not to mention all the perks because that’s all true! But instead of taking our word for it, here is what our team have to say! These are some recent comments we have received:

APPRENTICESHIP, GRADUATE AND WORK EXPERIENCE PROGRAMMES

People are the cornerstone of the MCP family, apprentices help us to grow and be fit for the future. Apprenticeships at MCP are not just for trades (electrical, plumbing, carpentry to name a few) but also to support our back-office functions such as Accounts, Marketing, HR and planning.

We offer a two-week work experience placement before starting a qualification. We know it is a big step and we want this to be right for you as much as us.

We work with local training providers too so travel for any off the job training should not be a problem.

Most apprenticeships we offer involve one day a week in college or self-study, the rest of the time, you will be doing ‘real’ work and will be appointed a mentor to guide you through your learning.

Best of all, you don’t need any experience or specific qualifications (still good to have some though!). What you do need though is good manners, good timekeeping and a real personal drive to learn and succeed.

At all times, you will be supported but still encouraged to bring your ideas and solutions to us, everyone is valued in MCP, regardless of age, stage or experience.

Come and see for yourself! We love having visitors too!
