Decide where within the business the placement will be, the role the student will undertake and who will be responsible for line management.

Match with learning provider - identify placement objectives
Through the supported matching process, identify a local learning provider to work with on developing and delivering the placement

Job description - objectives - structure - selection
Working with the provider, agree to the full role description, learning objectives, the structure of the placement and selection criteria for the student.

Acceptance - Paperwork
Complete a 3-way agreement with the placement provider and the student plus the relevant health and safety, public liability, non-disclosure agreements etc.

Expectations - Induction - Introductions
Share joining information with the student, covering aspects such as the dress code and expectations, then carry out a full induction including a site tour, health and safety briefing etc.

Progress - Communication - Appraisal
Monitor the student's progress, ensuring regular contact is had between the provider and the student. Complete the student's appraisal at the end of the placement.
