What’s it like to be a learner at KEITS?  Ofsted 2023

  • Apprentices and adult learners have very positive attitudes towards their work. They enjoy learning the theory that informs their practice. Adult learners are motivated to progress into employment and self-employment at the end of their programme.
  • Apprentices have a good understanding of the importance of legislation and the rules of law within their sectors.
  • Apprentices and adult learners acquire confidence because of their courses.
  • Apprentices produce work of a high standard. If they have misconceptions or gaps in their learning, training consultants provide helpful developmental feedback. Training consultants highlight spelling or grammar errors to apprentices. As a result, apprentices understand what they need to do to improve. Their written work improves over time.

What do our Parents say?

I would like to thank KEITS for the service you have given to myself and my son during the initial set up process. My son has Special Educational Needs, and it has been such a pleasure working with you to ensure he gets the right help and assistance required to ensure he succeeds. Your individual approach to the learner has shone through and I appreciate all the time you have given to this.  I must add that my son’s assessor was thorough and considerate in his approach towards him, and he also reassured me that working together with his employer will help him succeed in his chosen path.

What do our learners say?

I think KEITS is a wonderful training program that allows people the chance to work with horses. Without KEITS I don't know what I would be doing.

I would like to say how kind and amazing my assessor was with me throughout my apprenticeship she was always there to help me with whatever I needed, and she was really understanding when I didn’t understand what was needed because of my dyslexia.

As well as customer service skills, I have learnt and developed so many valuable life skills over the past year. My training consultant always included examples of customer service within the realms of dog training which was always incredibly helpful when then going on to complete evidence packs.

What do our employers say?

Broadened the skillset of the person managing the Apprentice. Encouraged our business to invest more in making the workplace apprentice friendly - i.e. safer, more attractive and in good condition.  Allowed tasks to be shared out more evenly so there is not such a workload whilst at the same time preparing a young person for working in the animal care industry.

We have provided a qualification for our apprentice, and she is now a competent groom.

I would recommend a KEITS Apprenticeship to any business who has the time and resources to support a young person through this journey - challenging at times but very rewarding for Employer and Apprentice.
