Our genuine passion for what we do shines through in all of our work

Employer Overview

Based in Chipperfield near Kings Langley, Hertfordshire, The Garden Company creates and cares for beautiful gardens and grounds. We bring clients’ garden dreams to life through our design expertise, landscaping craftmanship and gardening knowhow. Our award-winning work is drawn from 30 years of experience. We support our clients every step of the way to deliver bespoke, handcrafted spaces that they love.  We build to our own designs and we also offer a landscaping service to other garden designers, landscape architects and home-owners (with designs originated elsewhere).  Our landscaping services encompass initial consultation and detailed costings together with all aspects of the build - ground works, drainage, hardscaping, softscaping, lighting and irrigation.

We have a full-time staff of 20 people and at any one time there are 3-5 landscape build projects underway.  Our garden maintenance division provides gardening services to 60-plus clients all year round. The company’s chief areas of operation are North London and South-East England, although we can deliver design services nationally. Many of our clients are residential home-owners; we also work for commercial clients, including schools, business parks and hotels.

Our MD James Scott is a fully Registered Member of the Society of Garden Designers (SGD) and the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) and we are an SGD Registered Practice and Contractor Member of BALI. The Garden Company has won over 20 national awards for both design and build expertise, most recently an SGD Design Award for Small Residential Garden (2019) and four BALI Awards in 2020 and 2022. We were also proud winners of a Pro Landscaper Business Award in 2020 and 2022 and a Design Award from Homes and Gardens in 2022.

We also partner with horticultural charity Perennial – their team is there to support you and your family with the things that we can all face from time to time.

Our solid track record has been earned over the last 30 years – why not help us to build on it now? If you bring a passion for gardens and a desire to ‘wow’ clients to your work, we’d love to hear from you.
