Recruitment Support

Youth Jobs Grant

Recruit an eligible young person aged 18 to 24 and your business could receive:

 £3,000 Youth Jobs Grant - Available to employers recruiting young people who have been claiming Universal Credit and actively seeking work for six months or more and can help offset recruitment and employment costs, while providing a valuable opportunity to someone starting their career.

Apprenticeship Incentives

Financial Support for Employers

There are a number of incentives and support available to employers who choose to recruit young apprentices, helping to reduce costs and support workforce development.

£2,000 apprenticeship hiring incentive - Available from October 2026 for non-levy paying employers recruiting apprentices aged 16 to 24.

£1,000 employer incentive- Available when recruiting:

  • Apprentices aged 16 to 18
  • Apprentices aged 19 to 24 who are care leavers
  • Apprentices aged 19 to 24 with an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP)

100% funded training and assessment costs - Non-levy paying employers can access fully funded apprenticeship training and assessment for eligible apprentices aged 16 to 24.

£2,000 Foundation Apprenticeship Incentive - Available for employers recruiting:

  • Young people aged 16 to 21
  • Those aged 22 to 24 who have an EHCP
  • Care-experienced young people
  • Young people who are or have previously been in prison

Additional Support for Young People

Care Leaver Bursary

Eligible apprentices under the age of 25 who have experience of being in care may receive a:

£3,000 Care Leaver Bursary - This additional financial support is paid directly to the apprentice, helping them remain engaged and successfully complete their apprenticeship.
