“Training…has improved my mental state and helped my anxiety and depression. Before starting the training, I struggled with articulating myself being in big crowds. The support and encouragement from the staff has helped me gain more confidence in myself when speaking publicly. My goals were to learn as many skills as I could about the media industry. I co-produced and directed a short film at Garden Studios virtual production set, which was a once in a lifetime experience. One of my barriers was that I am a single parent, the staff were very understanding and flexible regarding childcare and working from home on days that I could not make it into the office.”

“I learnt the basics of editing with premier pro, self-shooting on an iPhone with Filmic Pro, setting up cameras. During the training I was selected to train at Garden Studios Virtual Production as a trainee technician. I received support from the talent and production team with my CV, email etiquette, applying for jobs and creating a career plan.”
